Before You Go
These are the steps that make the difference between a good trip and an exceptional one. Most of them take less than 10 minutes.
Your Pre-Trip Countdown
Log Into the Sandals Vacation Planner
Visit sandals.com or beaches.com and log into your reservation account. This is where you can pre-book spa treatments, dinner reservations, excursions, and optional add-ons — often at better rates than at the resort.
Reserve Specialty Dining & Spa Treatments
Popular restaurants like Butch's Island Chophouse (Beaches TCI), Gordon's on the Pier (Sandals), and the Red Lane® Spa can book up quickly. Pre-reserving locks in your first-choice time slots, especially for larger parties.
Confirm Your Airport Transfer
Your complimentary round-trip airport transfer is included with all Sandals and Beaches bookings. Make sure your flight information is current in your reservation so the resort's representative can meet you at arrivals.
Check Passport & Travel Documents
All Caribbean destinations require a valid passport. Ensure it does not expire within 6 months of your travel date. Some destinations also require a return flight confirmation or a completed customs form — check your specific island's requirements.
Download the Sandals or Beaches App
The app lets you manage dining reservations, access your itinerary, contact guest services, and explore activities without needing to visit the front desk. Available for iOS and Android.
Leave the Wallet at Home
Seriously. Once you're at the resort, almost everything is included. No tipping is expected (with the optional exception of butler gratuity if you have butler service). Bring a credit card for souvenirs and any personal purchases off-resort only.

Know Your Resort
Both brands are part of the same family — here's what sets them apart, and what to know about the specific resort you booked.
Sandals Jamaica Properties
Four distinct resorts in Jamaica: Sandals Montego Bay (the original, with the largest private beach in Jamaica), Sandals Ochi (lively, hillside, with the iconic butler village), Sandals Negril (laid-back beachfront, 7-mile beach), and Sandals Royal Plantation (all-butler-suite boutique property on a coral bluff).
Sandals Saint Lucia Properties
Three resorts set against the iconic Piton mountains. Sandals Halcyon Beach (intimate low-rise gardens), Sandals Regency La Toc (expansive 220-acre hillside), and Sandals Grande St. Lucian (peninsula with 360-degree water views). One of the most popular Sandals destinations for honeymooners.
Sandals Royal Caribbean (Reopening Dec 2026)
Currently undergoing a full reimagining with updated pool areas, new dining concepts, and a refreshed private island experience. Scheduled to reopen December 18, 2026. One of the brand's flagship properties known for the Caribbean's longest pool and its exotic private offshore island.
Sandals Barbados & Royal Barbados
Stay at one, play at both. Sandals Barbados and Sandals Royal Barbados are adjacent sister properties. Guests of either resort have full access to the dining, pools, entertainment, and amenities of both — essentially doubling your resort experience. Features Lovers Lanes, the brand's first craft beer bar and bowling alley.
Beaches Turks & Caicos
The flagship Beaches resort, set on 12 miles of Grace Bay Beach — consistently ranked the world's #1 beach by TripAdvisor. Five themed villages (Italian, French, Caribbean, Key West, and the brand-new Treasure Beach), 20+ restaurants, a 45,000-sq-ft waterpark, Sesame Street® characters, and a brand-new lagoon pool with Starfish Cinema. The most extensive Beaches property.
Beaches Negril
Set along the famous Seven Mile Beach in Negril, this low-rise resort captures the signature laid-back spirit of Jamaica while still delivering the full Beaches all-inclusive experience. Features the Pirate Island Water Park, a Kids Camp for all ages, Sesame Street programming, and the open-air lobby that brings the ocean breezes in from the moment you arrive.

Room upgrades at Sandals and Beaches can unlock butler service, private plunge pools, beachfront locations, or even overwater bungalows. Availability and pricing vary by property and travel dates. Reach out to Erica before your trip — she can check current upgrade pricing, compare what each category adds, and help you decide if it’s worth it for your trip. Sometimes the difference is smaller than you’d expect.
🔔 What Your Butler Can Do
Your Butler Elite team (typically 2–3 butlers on rotation) handles: restaurant reservations at any time, spa bookings, in-suite dining from multiple restaurant menus, beach and pool setup with preferred chairs and umbrellas, personalized room decoration for anniversaries or special occasions, unpacking and packing your luggage, beverage stocking preferences, wake-up calls, and more. Think of them as your personal resort concierge on call around the clock.
📱 Contact Your Butler Directly
You'll receive your butler team's direct WhatsApp or phone line at check-in. Save it immediately. Most guests find that texting ahead for restaurant times, beach setup preferences, or in-room requests works seamlessly throughout the stay.
💡 How to Get the Most From Butler Service
Communicate your preferences on Day 1. Let them know your dining interests, preferred wake time, drink preferences for the mini-bar, and any celebrations during the stay. Good butler teams anticipate — but only if they know what to anticipate. Don't be shy about asking; this service is included in your room rate precisely so you use it.
💰 Tipping Your Butler
Tipping is not required at Sandals or Beaches — and is actually not permitted for most staff. However, butler service is an exception where guests who feel their butler went above and beyond may optionally leave a gratuity at the end of the stay, given directly to the team. This is completely at your discretion and should never feel obligatory.
🌊 Overwater Bungalows & Villas Butler Included
Sandals offers overwater bungalows at South Coast (Jamaica), Grande St. Lucian (Saint Lucia), and Saint Vincent. All overwater accommodations come with Butler Elite service. Guests have a private deck over the water, direct ladder access to the sea, and stunning sunrise or sunset exposure depending on orientation. Reserve well in advance — these sell out quickly.
🏊 Private Pool Suites
Multiple properties offer suites with your own private plunge or full-size pool on a patio or rooftop. Available at Sandals Ochi, Negril, Grande St. Lucian, Regency La Toc, Halcyon Beach, Royal Barbados, Grenada, Grande Antigua, and Saint Vincent. A popular option for guests who want privacy without the full overwater villa price point.
🛁 Tranquility Soaking Tubs
Sandals' signature outdoor soaking tubs are found on private patios and balconies across most room and suite categories. Enclosed with elegant privacy curtains, they're designed as a romantic outdoor bathing experience — with views of the garden, pool, or ocean depending on your room's location.
🏠 Family & Multi-Generational Villas (Beaches)
Beaches Turks & Caicos Treasure Beach Village offers 3 and 4-bedroom Reserve Villas specifically for larger families or multi-generational groups. These feature multiple ensuite bedrooms, shared living spaces, private patios, and butler service. Ideal for family reunions or milestone celebrations where a single-room booking doesn't work.
Dining & Drinks
Up to 21 restaurant concepts per resort, unlimited premium open bar, and a fully stocked daily mini-bar — here's how to navigate it all.
All Restaurants Are Included All Included
Unlike some all-inclusives that charge extra for specialty dining, Sandals and Beaches include access to all on-site restaurants in your rate. The number of dining options ranges from 5 restaurants at boutique properties to 21+ at Beaches Turks & Caicos. No cover charges, no per-restaurant fees.
Reservations 🍽
Most restaurants operate on a reservation or queue basis for dinner. Smaller specialty restaurants (fine dining, steakhouse, Japanese) can fill up — especially on weekends and peak season weeks. Use the Vacation Planner app or contact your butler (if you have butler service) to secure prime-time slots. Walk-up dining is usually available at casual venues throughout the day.
Dress Code at Dinner 👔
Sandals and Beaches enforce a "resort elegant" dress code at fine dining restaurants in the evening. This means no swimwear, no tank tops, no flip-flops. Men typically need a collared shirt and closed-toe shoes; women need a dress, skirt, or dressy top. Most casual and pool-side restaurants have a relaxed dress code. Check your specific resort's guidelines.
In-Room & In-Suite Dining 🛏
All guests have access to room service. Butler suite guests have access to an expanded menu and can order from multiple restaurant kitchens. Continental breakfast items are typically complimentary; hot-item delivery may carry a small fee for non-butler categories. Your butler (if applicable) can arrange full in-suite dining setups on request.
Mini-Bar & In-Room Beverages 🍷
Your in-room mini-bar is fully stocked and replenished daily at no charge. This includes premium liquors, beer, wine, sodas, and water. You can request specific stocking preferences through your butler or the front desk. There is no consumption charge — everything in the mini-bar is included.
Gordon's on the Pier 🦞 Included
One of Sandals' most iconic dining experiences — a private overwater restaurant available at select properties. Candlelit, intimate, and requiring advance reservations. Perfect for a honeymoon or anniversary dinner. Reserve as early as possible; it's one of the most requested experiences at properties where it's available.
Butch's Island Chophouse 🥩 Included
Beaches' first dedicated steakhouse, debuting at the new Treasure Beach Village at Beaches Turks & Caicos. Premium cuts in a refined setting. Reservations recommended as this is the newest and most talked-about venue on the property.
Kimono's Japanese Restaurant 🍣 Included
Available at Beaches Turks & Caicos and select Sandals properties. Sushi, teppanyaki, and Japanese cuisine. The hibachi tables are a popular group experience — book ahead, especially for families or groups of six or more.
Schooner's Seafood Grill 🦐 Included
Beachfront casual dining at Beaches TCI. Fresh seafood, grilled fish, island-style cooking in an open-air setting. Great for a relaxed lunch or sunset dinner. Walk-up friendly.
The Pinta Food Hall 🌮 IncludedNew — Treasure Beach
Brand new at Beaches Turks & Caicos' Treasure Beach Village. Features Italian, Mexican, Asian, salad, and grill stations under one roof. Also includes Calypso's Snow Cone Station for an icy afternoon treat.
🍹 What's Included in the Open Bar
Premium liquors (Absolut, Jack Daniel's, Bacardi, etc.), red and white wines including Robert Mondavi Twin Oaks selections, imported and local beers, cocktails, mocktails, sodas, juices, specialty coffees and teas, smoothies, and bottled water. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic. All bars across the resort, beach bars, swim-up bars, and pool bars are included.
🏊 Swim-Up Bars & Beach Bars
Multiple properties feature swim-up bars accessible directly from the pool. Selected locations including Beaches Turks & Caicos offer swim-up soda bars specifically for kids. Your drink package covers all bar locations on-property.
☕ Specialty Coffee & Non-Alcoholic
Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee — one of the world's most prized varieties — is served at select Jamaica properties. Specialty espresso drinks, lattes, and smoothies are included at dedicated coffee outlets on most properties. Ask the front desk or your butler for locations at your specific resort.
🍾 In-Room Bottle Purchases (Optional)
If you'd like to have specific bottles of wine, Champagne, or spirits pre-stocked beyond the standard mini-bar selection, these can be arranged through the Vacation Planner or with your butler. Prices vary by selection.
Activities & Experiences
From scuba diving and watersports to spa days, Island Routes excursions, kids clubs, and nightly entertainment — here’s how to fill your days at a Sandals or Beaches resort.
Scuba Diving
Sandals and Beaches offer the Caribbean’s most comprehensive scuba program, included for certified divers. Multiple daily boat dives depart to local reef and wreck sites with certified dive masters and top-of-the-line equipment. No extra charge.
Learn to Dive (Resort Course)
Not yet certified? PADI Discover Scuba resort courses are included at most properties for first-time divers. You’ll go through a pool session and then a supervised shallow-water ocean dive. Full Open Water certification courses are available at an additional fee — ask Erica.
Kayaking & Paddleboarding
Single and double kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and glass-bottom kayaks (where available) are all included. Pick up equipment directly from the resort’s watersports hut on the beach.
Sailing & Snorkeling
Hobie Cat sailing, Sunfish boats, and guided snorkeling from the beach are all part of the included watersports program. A great low-key way to explore the reef just off the shoreline on your own schedule.
Windsurfing & Waterskiing
Waterskiing, windsurfing, and wakeboarding are included at most Sandals and Beaches properties. Equipment and instruction are provided at the watersports desk. Availability varies by property — check the activity schedule on arrival.
Land Sports
Tennis courts (with rackets and clinics), beach volleyball, bocce ball, croquet, pickleball, cycling, and full fitness center access are all included. Some properties also include complimentary green fees for golf — confirm with Erica for your specific resort.
Water Parks (Beaches Resorts)
Beaches resorts feature the acclaimed Pirates Island Water Parks with multi-story slides, a 650-foot lazy river, a FlowRider surf simulator, waterfall pools, and splash decks. The brand-new Treasure Beach Village at Beaches TCI adds three more slides and a lagoon pool. All included.
Nightly Entertainment
Every Sandals and Beaches resort offers nightly entertainment at no extra charge — live bands, themed beach parties, fire shows, cultural performances, Caribbean nights, and more. Pick up the daily activity schedule from guest services each morning.
Red Lane® Spa 💆
The signature on-property spa brand at all Sandals and Beaches resorts. Treatments draw on Caribbean botanical traditions and are delivered by certified therapists. Services include Swedish and deep-tissue massages, hot stone therapy, facials, body scrubs, body wraps, manicures, and pedicures. Available at dedicated spa facilities on most properties — book via the Vacation Planner or through your butler.
Couples’ Treatments 💑
Side-by-side couples’ massages in a shared treatment room, or outdoor sessions in beachside cabanas (select properties), are consistently among the most-booked experiences. These are especially popular during honeymoon and anniversary weeks — book well in advance through the Vacation Planner.
Salon Services 💅
Full salon services including styling, blow-outs, braiding, waxing, and nail services are available at most Red Lane® locations. Popular for pre-dinner prep and pre-wedding styling. Walk-in availability is limited at peak times — book ahead.
Hydrotherapy & Specialty Treatments
Select properties offer hydrotherapy pools, steam rooms, and sauna facilities adjacent to the spa. Some treatments are inspired by local Caribbean ingredients — coconut milk wraps, sugar cane scrubs, and volcanic mineral treatments (available at volcanic-island properties like Grenada and St. Lucia).
🎪 Camp Sesame & Kids’ Club
INA (International Nanny Association) certified nannies run age-appropriate daily programming for children from toddlers through early teens. Activities include arts and crafts, beach games, treasure hunts, sandcastle competitions, and Sesame Street character meet-and-greets. The daily schedule is posted at guest services each morning.
🎠 Sesame Street® Characters
Beaches is the only Caribbean resort chain with an exclusive Sesame Street partnership. Kids can meet and interact with Elmo, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, Zoe, and the full crew. Character breakfasts, beach parties, parades, and photo sessions happen throughout the week — check the entertainment board daily for timing. Complimentary for all guests.
🎮 Teen Zone & Teen Disco
A dedicated teen lounge with the latest gaming consoles (Xbox included in select suites), organized teen-only activities, beach sports challenges, and a weekly Teen Disco is available at Beaches Turks & Caicos and Beaches Negril. Older kids have fully separate social programming from the younger age groups.
🎬 Starfish Cinema — New at Treasure Beach
The brand-new open-air Starfish Cinema at Treasure Beach Village at Beaches Turks & Caicos offers curated movie screenings under the stars. A perfect family evening wind-down after dinner. Open to all Beaches TCI guests regardless of which village they’re staying in.
🏊 Swim-Up Soda Bars (Kids Only)
Select Beaches properties feature dedicated kids’ swim-up soda bars where younger guests can order mocktails and specialty drinks right from the pool — without adults hovering at the main bar. A fun, kid-sized version of the swim-up bar experience.
🗺 What Is Island Routes? Official Sandals Partner
Island Routes Caribbean Adventures is the official excursion and tour operator for Sandals and Beaches Resorts — and the World’s Leading Caribbean Attraction Company. Operating across nine destinations including Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Barbados, Antigua, Grenada, The Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, Curaçao, and Saint Vincent, Island Routes offers 500+ curated day tours spanning land, sea, and air. Tours range from adrenaline-fueled adventures to relaxed cultural experiences. All Island Routes guides are certified local experts who know their islands inside and out.
Popular Tour Categories
Catamaran Cruises
Multi-hour sailing excursions along the island coastline with open bar, live music or DJ, snorkeling stops, and beach breaks. The Negril Highlights Catamaran Cruise and Montego Bay Reggae Catamaran are consistently among the highest-rated Island Routes experiences.
Powerboat Adventures
Pilot your own 17-ft. speedboat around the Caribbean, then stop for snorkeling in crystal-clear waters. Available in St. Lucia, Jamaica, and other islands. A popular choice for guests who want a more active, hands-on water experience.
Waterfall & Rainforest Tours
In Jamaica, Dunn’s River Falls is a bucket-list experience — guided climbs up the famous terraced falls with Island Routes certified guides. Also available: bamboo river rafting on the Martha Brae River and rainforest zip-line canopy tours.
Ocean Safari & Wildlife
Swimming with dolphins, stingray encounters, swimming pigs of Exuma (Bahamas), and Rock Iguana tours (Turks & Caicos) are among the most memorable wildlife experiences. Availability is island-specific — ask Erica what’s available at your destination.
Cultural & Sightseeing Tours
MINI Cooper island tours, food tasting and cultural walking tours, historic town tours, rum distillery visits, and local market experiences. A great way to connect with the authentic Caribbean culture beyond the resort gates.
Adventure & Aerial
Zip-lining through rainforest canopies, ATV adventures through local villages and black sand beaches (St. Vincent), dune buggy tours, and aerial tours by helicopter (select destinations). Island Routes’ Private and Bespoke Collection offers fully private versions of most tours for groups who prefer exclusivity.
Island Routes excursions can sell out — especially catamaran cruises, dolphin swims, and Dunn’s River Falls during peak season. Pre-booking before your trip locks in your preferred dates and times, and often secures better pricing than booking at the resort desk. Erica can book Island Routes excursions on your behalf as part of her trip-planning service, so you arrive with everything already confirmed. Just let her know which experiences interest you and she’ll handle the rest.
